THE SHEPHERD AND I

(Psalm 23)

The Lord is my Shepherd, that's all I need to know

Five of the simplest words I've ever heard that'll help me grow

Whether in my darkest valley or in my most joyous peaks

I know I am safe because of His loving-kindness

I know You'll be there to help me weather any storm,

So I am not fearful of what will be

I can boldly step out on His promise of going through this life

Not that it'll be easy, but because He will be with me to comfort

If I keep my eyes and mind stayed on Him, He will bless me,

And have my enemies look on in wonder on how I am where I am

My mind on you, I am overly blessed, life flowing over in goodness and mercy

I'm living in the purpose You've created for me, and, for that, I am thankful
