My Equals Eight: The History, I Suppose

I made a list of what I call my "Equals Eight" list: names that have a special meaning together. The list below is what I initially wanted to name a page, simply because I love the meaning of the names. And they made sense together, you know? But I couldn't figure out how to present it without it not making sense, you know? Being black, I was inclined to lean toward African names, but, of course, I also looked toward names that had significant meanings. What I fell in love with about these names is that it encourages unity, faith, trust, living, taking it slow, you know? We all have a life to live, a purpose, whether it's in the sciences, social services, politics, engineering, math, parenthood, or just being a lesson on humanity: we're all in this together. So, why not come together and make it worthwhile.

Keep in mind, in Christianity and Judaism, there is a day of Sabbath. In Christianity, some would say that Sunday is the Sabbath, others, Saturday. I think Sunday has a two-fold purpose because of this: if Sunday is the Sabbath, it is the seventh day, which is a rest day. Seven signifies completion. Completion can mean that something is done.

If Sunday is seen as the start of the week, that means it's day one, the beginning. Day one can mean a new day to begin something you've always wanted...owning your own business, ending a negative relationship, getting a degree or finishing school, finding your purpose.

May your Sunday be a positive reflection of you, whether you are completing something, beginning something new, and/or both! :D
